Only July 1, 2015 Younique announced its flagship best-seller 3D Fiber Lash mascara has been totally revamped – inside and out.
That day, they went on sale to Younique presenters only, and buy, we did in droves…That day we sold over 23,000 in just one day (23,110).
Now just two days away from the official launch date of these new 3D Fiber Lashes+ (July 15) my Y-sisters and I aim to break a global record of selling a million mascaras in just one day*.
My personal goal is to sell 300 sets in the month of July. Yes, I have a long way to go (290 or so), but you set your sights and you go for it. Right?
“What the Plus”? How Lashes+ Are Better
You may be wondering what the difference is between our original 3D lash formula and the new 3D Lashes+. The answer? Almost everything from the ingredients, to the packaging, to where it is now made (in the USA!)
We’ve swapped the green tea leaves for Rayon, and they’re now enriched with our gorgeous Uplift Eye Serum to help nurture your lashes, and the packaging is now eco-friendly. They used to increase volume of lashes by up to 300% but now it’s closer to 400%.
As you may know we sell more than mascara,…we have amazing skin care products, lip glosses, stains and liners and a percentage of every purchase from a Younique presenter helps empower sexually abused women.
*The downside of being such a successful company is that I predict we’ll achieve it and then the company will be hammered with orders – which may cause some delays. I hope I am wrong.
So another week has come and gone again. It’s been a fairly quiet seven days, so there’s not much to report for “my Week in Younique” this week.
To be fair – two of the days this week were spent traveling and unpacking after a month in California…
Earlier this week, this wee image (pictured right, on desktop version of this blog) has hinted at something BIG being announced on the 30th.
On the various FB group pages – we’re taking bets on whether it’s new products or new regions being announced. Or both.
I haven’t got any real clue, to be honest, so I am keen to see what is unveiled!
This Younique company is definitely exciting, I’ll give them that. There is always something happening. (Week before last they announced some big incentive trips – to Jamaica and the West Indies.) It’s always something new on the horizon…Definitely not boring, unlike my January…
Dull January Sales
Sales-wise it’s been a pretty dead month for both my team and myself too. One team mate, Marie, has knocked it out of the ballpark, sales wise. She’s done better than the rest of the company combined. I am so proud of her!
For me personally though, there have been a few private sales and a few queries too. I think people seem to be waiting for payday this week – to bothshop for makeup and/or sign up for #theAteam!
Currently one or two Californians have indicated that they may sign up on my team, and one gal in Scotland too. It would be so fantastic if they all did so – but I’ve found that a lot of people say they’re going to do something, and then they don’t really follow through…
It’s all a matter of timing, I guess. So in other words, just because they haven’t doesn’t mean they wont. I do my best to remain positive even though at times it’s a bit disheartening.
More Courier Hiccups
One of the earliest orders this month, placed via my Younique website, never showed. The tracking indicated it was “out for delivery” on the 14th (which is what I saw seven days later). My only thought is that it fell down the back of something and maybe got lost on that truck?
It’s unfortunate these courier issues have persisted. It’s something that could really makes us look bad – even though it’s a third party who is at fault! It’s our reputation on the line!
Thankfully, the Younique support team is super-quick at sorting things like this – and instead of the sending out a whole new set of 3D Fiber Lashes to the customer, I simply sent her down a set from my stash, and my set will be replaced. (I am happy to wait the 10 or so days, but wasn’t happy for my customer to! PS: She got hers one day later!)
Optimistic for Final Days
I try to remain optimistic for the final days – through my My Younique website, with the products I have in stock and for my team too. Leading a team is proving challenging.
On the one hand, you want to be supportive and bolster your team up, and on the other hand you don’t want to be a pain in the backside.
I’ve tried to arrange a get together for the team mates within traveling distance from Glasgow, and it’s been rather like herding cats.
So it may just be me and the aforementioned Marie – but that’s fine. I offered to buy dinner for the person who sold the most this month and it’s currently her!
My Younique Success in the Palm of My Hand
I will leave you with one bit of news (and picture). When I returned from California I returned to my Fast Start, Yellow and Pink Level Charms to add to my keychain!
The Yellow and Fast Start came with a normal letter signed by the co-founders.
The pink came in a glossy card and classy envelope. I imagine it just gets better all the way up to Black Status (when you get the $10,000 check).
Aiming for that my friends…
Watch this space.
Anyway, it’s late and time to wind this blog down. I didn’t think I had much to say but it turns out I did!
By now you probably have heard of Younique’s 3D Fiber Lash Mascara…You’ve probably seen them somewhere on your timeline, or over on Instagram, from a friend, or you just Googled them and found this.
Younique currently sells over 20,000 of them daily….An increase from the 15k that was sold before we, here in the UK, hopped on the Fiber Lash bandwagon.
Frankly, since joining Younique, there has been a lot of hoopla amongst my Y-sisters about the fact that there are supposedly “real” Younique Fiber Lash Mascaras for sale on eBay, Amazon, and the like.
Really, if this is true, then it’s a very disappointing affair, on so many levels..It goes against the whole concept of Direct Sales.
Plus, it would be breaching Younique’s Terms & Conditions – so I highly doubt any of my legit Y-sisters are actually doing it.
That said, there may be some are for sale as “unwanted gifts” or something like that…I am not 100% sure.
Avoid Fake Fiber Lash Mascara
Arguably what’s even worse is that the majority of these 3D mascaras being sold are actually impostors (see FAKE 3D Fiber Lash Mascarason eBay and Amazon).
Recently, I heard some people (one was even a friend!) trying to bypass Younique Presenters, opting for the allure of the cheaper option of eBay in order to save herself some money.
They cost is £23 UK (US $29) – so if they’re much cheaper then that, I’d caution you to beware.
Really, because it may end up being more costly in the long run. (Lord knows what’s even in them??)
If they are, in fact fakes, it’s unlikely they’ll be as good as the Real McCoy from Younique.
If you’re that desperate to save yourself the shipping costs, speak to your local presenter (you can find one on the map on our site) and ask them if you can try a pair – buying direct from him or her.
To keep you right, I have taken a picture a back of one of MY younique 3D mascaras.
Sorry, I don’t have any fake 3D fiber lashes to show you as a comparison, because naturally, I am not going to waste my money buying them! 🙂
Look for the ingredients in English/French on the back – along with directions, warning and barcode.
Though this is not always an indication, I have heard some fakes do have the barcode and instructions too.
With these counterfeit goods, it can be easy to be “caught out”…
I’ve heard some people say the fake’s packaging actually looks better than the real ones! (Again, I’ve not seen any fakes to comment about).
Please note that just because it looks similar and possibly even works in the same way – doesn’t mean that the quality or the ingredients are going to be the same.
In fact they’re not.
Here’s a super-scary tale of counterfeit makeup. I’d urge you all to read before you go searching for cheap, 3D, fiber lashes for sale.
The Internet is rife with people who’ve had a bad experience after buying cheap knock-offs on Amazon or eBay and the like.
There are horror stories of trying to get refunds once they’ve discovered they bought a fake mascara.
If you don’t buy from us, you probably won’t get the same “Love it” 14-day guarantee but you should have some protection on the site where you purchased the lashes.
Beware of Expired Makeup
While we’re on the general subject of makeup, and pitfalls, another thing to watch out for, is the life span of your makeup.
The products you’re using on a daily basis have a shorter life span than you may realise. This goes for not only your mascara, but also the rest of your makeup too.
This Allure article recommends that you “switch mascara every two to three months to be safe”.
I know I have been guilty of keeping makeup/mascara long past its “use by” date. Not any more. I actually looked forward to dumping ALL my old makeup once my Younique Presenters kit arrived! It was a great feeling of “out with the old and in with the new”.
This article about possible side effects to old makeup may make you question your own…(thought I am sure you won’t be silly enough to be using your same tube/s of mascara, Younique or otherwise, for 10 years).
How gross is that?
Always Buy Real 3D Lashes
So finally, once again, please support your local presenter and buy direct from them (or from me!!)
Don’t just get sucked into saving a few pounds/dollars (Or Euros: Younique Germanylaunches soon).
When it comes to putting things on – or near – your eyes, you want to get the real thing. OK?
So grab yourself some real Younique 3D Fiber Lashes here – or you can message me to set up a party link for you to shop through and you can earn some FREE makeup. How good does that sound?
In a nutshell though, there is no smell to Younique’s gel!!
