Well I am literally two minutes off the Younique Mexico webinar about the upcoming, full launch there. Mexico is a great market for us, for a variety of reasons…
Here are some reasons and stats from a recent Younique email on the subject:
Mexico is the 6th largest direct sales market in the world 41 percent of Mexico direct sales are in the beauty category. Direct selling accounts for half of the Mexico beauty industry with eye products such as mascara and eye shadow accounting for 33 percent of all sales in the direct selling of makeup. That means hundreds of thousands of women could be waiting to try our most popular product—our 3D Fiber Lashes
….So that’s pretty exciting.
Going Mobile in Mexico!
In Mexico, the population is very “mobile”. In fact, 87% are accessing the Internet on their smart phones. Perhaps more interestingly, to me anyway, is that such a short per cent are using iPhones.
For some reason this surprised me…
In any event, the Younique Mexico launch is coming so I am already looking to sponsor some lovely ladies, and to #jointheAteam.
The Younique 999 Club
Like in the other markets, Younique has a sort of competition for the first 999 signups in a new market. When the UK launch happened in October 2014 – those 999 filled up in just twenty-six minutes!
I, sadly, wasn’t one of them – as I signed up a few weeks later (more like 12,000 as I recall, for the UK).
But we will have this opportunity for people joining in Germany and Mexico.
FYI: The German launch is now August 1st, and not July 1st, which is rather disappointing…but oh well.
Anyway the Younique Mexico launch will be slightly different than our usual “Recruit, Sell, Build” model – because we already launched product sales there.
Younique Products: “Made in the USA”? (Well, Mostly) part 1
Are you wondering: “Where is Younique makeup manufactured?” The answer is, “pretty much all over”. Many of the Younique products are “Made in the USA” – but some of our biggest sellers are not.
Read on – as I take you on a Younique trip around the world to see where six of our most popular products are from! (NOTE: Will do a follow up as soon as I can for more Younique products)…
3D Fiber Lash Mascara
I’ve seen other Younique presenters stating that Younique makeup is “Made in USA” – but the truth is our biggest seller is (was*) not. The 3D Fiber Lashes are actually made in China. I know that will disappoint some of you out there, more than others…
PLEASE NOTE*: Good news the new 3D Fiber Lashes+ are now made in the USA. Only the original formula was were made in China.
While on the subject of the 3D mascara, please only buy your fiber mascaras from a REAL, active Younique presenter (direct through them – or their website). If not mine, than someone else’s. Far too many bargain-hunters are caught out buying Fake 3D Mascaras from Ebay and Amazon – it’s worth paying the full price on something that goes near your eyes, ok? Shop for REAL 3D Fiber Lash mascara on my Younique site – or UK people may want to save themselves a little money by ordering directly through me. You’ll receive them for a little cheaper and a lot faster if you do! (Ring 0141 416 1492 – always in stock)
Moodstruck Mineral Pigment Powders
Good news for the purists who want American-made makeup products – our Moodstruck Mineral Pigment Powders are made in America. If you would like to see the full ingredients of our Moodstruck Mineral Pigment Powders – in both Matte and Shimmer versions, then visit my site.
UPDATE: The Mineral Pigments are now different and called Moodstruck Pressed Shadows. There are 32 different pigment colours to choose from. Interested? Buy your Moodstruck Mineral Pigments now! PS: They’re not just for the eyes, look at all the things you can do with them! So lovely, so versatile!
Splurge Cream Eye Shadow
As followers of my blog probably know, the Splurge Cream Eye Shadow is my fave product, I think…I was surprised to learn that these gorgeous silky shadows are made in Italy! I like them all but Elegant is probably the best.
More Splurge ingredience details from the Youniqe site:

UPDATE FEB 2016: We have a new range of Beachfront Products for lotions and sprays for body tanning – March 2016.
Divine Daily Moisturizer
I sure do love this Divine Daily Moisturizer and I really do wear it every day. This is another of the Younique Products that is “Made in the USA”.
From the Younique Website:
“Divine Moisturizer (https://www.youniqueproducts.com/Thea/newproducts/divine) “Divine is an all new, superior, daily moisturizer featuring honeysuckle, beta fructan, and highly refined triglyceride oil. Honeysuckle has long been sought after for its antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties…Made in the USA, and manufactured using a “clean formulation” process.”
Refreshed Rose Water
Refreshed Rose Water was initially one of the products I was, I’ll admit to you, a little ambivalent about. Over time though, I gradually started to see how versatile it…Cooling you down on a hot summer’s day. Mixer for my pigments to apply them as eye liners or into my hair. It also can clean makeup brushes. That’s just a few ways the Refreshed Rose water can be used. It is another of Younique’s “Made in the USA” products!
There is a ridiculous amount of ingredients in the Rose Water – too many to list here – but if you want to see the full list then visit theRefreshed Rose Water page on my Youniquesite and click on “ingredients” below the “Add to Cart” button.
No matter where it comes from, Younique’s makeup is always naturally-based*, not tested on animals, and are generally free from parabens, and other nasty chemicals that will harm your body or you skin.
*Some products do have talc for example, the beachfront bronzer.
Well I have lots serious articles about what it’s like to be a Younique presenter, answering lots of questions in my Younique FAQs – but today I simply thought I’d share with you my 10 reasons why you should join Younique or at least to consider joining…
Let’s face it, of all the things you can be doing, or selling in this world, makeup is a totally FUN offering! So if you like makeup, and are looking for a sociable business that is FUN, then this is the one. You get to try, buy, and apply makeup to your heart’s content. You can party online or off. It’s totally up to you! The most important thing is to have FUN with it! I do…
Younique sells fabulous, naturally-based makeup and skincare products. If you are all about your natural, mineral-based, paraben-free, makeup that doesn’t contain harmful chemicals and is hypo-allergenic, then you’ll feel great selling these products every day. Many of the products are even 100% natural, some are even vegan, and all of which are cruelty-free.
If you care what you wear, then wear this!
Want a Flexi-time business? Work as little or as much as you want and wherever you want. If you want to run it full time, you can, or if you just want to give it an hour or two of week, that’s ok too. Work at home, in an office, a coffee shop or when waiting to pick up your kids at school. Work on a computer, a tablet or your smart phone. Work at the beach or by the pool if you want (I’ve done it, and I love that!) Younique is a totally flexible business. Do your thing – your way, it’s all ok!
Are you ready to go? When you are ready to join Younique, it takes just minutes to sign up. As a Younique presenter, you can start selling within minutes. You, your family, your friends, associates, even strangers, can start shopping immediately through your own Younique web site.
Perhaps even more excitingly, you get paid your commissions (20-30%) just three hours after every sale! Now that is FAST!
With Younique, you get your own FREE website that has no annual fees. It’s also the place you sell immediately, but also you can earn FREE makeup for yourself through your own party links! How cool is that?
Other ways to get FREE goodies? You can earn a lot of it by hitting “Fast Start”. If that weren’t enough, you’ll also earn FREE Y-cash on you Birthday each year too ($25.00 USD | $30.00 CAD | $33.00 AUD | $35.00 NZD | £20.00 GPB).
So that’s cause of celebration alright! Who doesn’t love FREE stuff?
Like I said in number 3, in your Younique business, you have the freedom to run it how and where you want.
You have freedom to choose what works best for you to be your most authentic self. If you want to host in home parties, you can. If you want to do it “old-school catalog” way, you can do it that way too. If you want to become a Youtube vlogger or normal blogger, then go for it. If you want to attend events, you can. If Instagram is your channel of choice, you can choose to only market there. Or perhaps you’re a queen pinner then take your business and pin-it to Pinterest. You may be a party girl and host tea parties or lashes and lattes lunch breaks. Younique offers you much freedom to run things your way, each day!
PS: You do not have to have a Facebook business page or host parties on FB, I’ve never done either and I do pretty good with Younique. Do what suits YOU…not your upline.
From the latest trends like3D Fiber Lashes, or mineral pigment powders and creamy eye shadows to luxurious lip stains – you’ll always be on trend and in fashion with Younique makeup. They’re constantly adding new products to our lines. See how your Younique sisters are shining their Younique light with various looks created by presenters. Yep, this is most-definitely not your grandma’s makeup company!
To be honest, I’m not sure whether it’s a good thing or a bad thing, but you need to have a Facebook account to be a Younique presenter. For many of you who are already posting on Facebook, this is great news!!
You can actually use it to promote your business and make yourself some money while “playing” on there all day anyway. Get paid to play as they say! Promote items via your Facebook business page, or through an event. Or share your Younique life through your profile (Note: FB does have Ts&Cs to prevent you using your profile as a business though – so be careful, be creative!)
For those of you who may not like FB, you don’t actually have to use it for marketing. You can simply use it to log into your account and do your promoting how, when and where you like (I refer you to numbers 3 and 6 above!)
If you have a family yourself, then this business will afford you the ability to spend more time with them. You can help support them by earning extra money each month.
For those of us who don’t have a family (well mine is thousands of miles away), you can become a part of a Younique Family. Your team will become a sort of “family” to you, should you wish to connect to your Y-sisters. I have found it to be a supportive sisterhood and hopefully you will too!
Similarly to number 9, my tenth reason to join Younique is all about friends. If you have lots already, you can spend more time having fun with them. You can get together with them and have play with your presenters kit filled with products.
Some of them will love it and join your team (my first half-dozen recruits were my friends and my best seller has been a long-time friend). Some friends will be your most supportive customers. Theses are good friends.
You also will likely find you make new friends. I am making friends with many of my upline and downlines alike. Young and old alike – we friends are celebrating a similar mission as business owners, and are encouraging each other along our journeys. Also we help each other on days when we feel like chucking it in, and I’ll be honest with you, those days do happen. They don’t happen for me but when they do it’s good to have a supportive network to see you through!
CONVINCED TO JOIN YOUNIQUE?
If you’re ready to #jointheAteam now, then please do so. I would love to Sponsor your Younique business today.
If you are still unsure and have more questions, then feel free to reach out to me in the comments area below, or email me younique (at) theanewcomb.co.uk – at no obligation. I’ll see if I can help you any more.
Finally, you can also follow along with my weekly series called My Week in Younique where I tell you about my own experience as a Younique presenter and sponsor. A recent blog talks about my Younique journey (and its challenges) six months in and this is one of my more detailed (and best, if I do say so myself) – My Year in Younique. All of these blogs are done as transparently as possible. This is not a “get rich quick” business, and “Younique is not for everyone”, but it’s fabulous and fun if you’re determined to put in the work like I am! If you are I’d love to hear from you now!
Well, I could have sworn I’d already written this blog, or at least some notes onto my phone or iPod when traveling, but I can’t seem to find it anywhere.
It will be a fairly quick “bumper edition” as I’ve not done “My Week in Younique” for two weeks now. Sometimes life gets in the way…My apologies.
New Team Mates to Welcome
In the last My Week in Younique update I welcomed Jo to the team. She immediately had gone on to qualify as an official White Status presenter within 48 hours.
That’s mighty impressive (considering some of my team mates have yet to get a single sale on the board!)
Now I need to welcome Jill. She joined through this very blog (I think) late in the evening – much to my joy. I am rather hoping she will take after Jo in terms of sales.
No pressure though, Jill. Ha! Welcome Jill to #theAteam. Glad to have you aboard.
Earlier this morning, I had my first comment from someone in Germany. I would love to sponsor German recruits so if anyone is in Germany in search of a Younique sponsor, then let’s talk.
Younique launches in Mexico first then Germany later in the year. I’m on the lookout for wannabe Younique presenters in both countries now!
Last Sales for March!
Younique is a dangerous business. I suppose it’s the same for other cosmetics type companies. This is why I blogged “If you Love Makeup Don’t Become a Younique Presenter”. Frankly, the last thing I should have done today, was buy more makeup, but I couldn’t resist. I had to do it.
I was out walking with a friend at the weekend. We just kicked off the#5x50chal. She used to do Avon. I asked her why she stopped and she said because she was spending all her commissions on makeup. I nodded, silently, knowingly. It’s true. I’ve been a bit guilty of that too.
Party Confusion – Frustrating
In the spirit of honesty and transparency, I am going to share one of my biggest complains about Younique, personally…
It’s the confusion surrounding the virtual parties…I really do think that a lot of people I speak to still don’t understand the virtual party concept. I am not sure I can clear it up for them.
Twice now, it’s happened, where friends have bought through my own site (which is good of course) instead of using either my party link or the link I created for them.
Once it happens, they have a support document saying how to “attach it to a party” – but frankly, I don’t believe it works. Or it’s not idiot proof enough…
Think I need to have words with the co-founder Derek. I could probably teach him a thing or two (given I started building websites 20 years ago this summer…
So anyway, last night my lovely friend Han went and spent over £100 in products for herself and her daughter, and didn’t use the “party link” I’d created for her. (Oops).
I immediately tried to contact support.
They said she had to do it.
I wrote to them on her behalf (using her email address).
They sent the non-sense email with instructions (like the above document) – and 24 hours later – we’re no further forward.
At this point, I don’t think Han can be bothered to sort it….and I’m frustrated because it means we’ve both lost out on the “Party Perks”. (If she didn’t want them, I would have had them quite happily…)
Ok sure, I got the commission, of course. Thankfully. That was both great and needed today – as the new month begins tomorrow.
She managed to get her £8 Y-cash March Kudos (for spending over £60) which is something…But we both did lose out on half-priced and FREE items from that sale of over one hundred pounds. Boo!
Splurge for Dainty
Oh well I currently have almost £80 in y-cash so it’s not like I am desperate. Might have to Splurge for Dainty. It’s out tomorrow. I love Elegant which I have already. I already have one order for Dainty. Anyone else want it too?
Younique Simplified: 3 ways to buy Younique from me:
1) Shop through my Younique site. Always appreciated. Sure. It’s what most people do here. 2) Shop through my own party links (I always have one going. If you can be bothered, then simply ask for the link address – tweet me or scan my tweetsor email me: younique (at) theanewcomb.co.uk)
3) Shop through your unique party link and you get the perks! Half priced and maybe FREE makeup! (We do need to become Facebook friends for that to happen though). Let me know if you want some FREE Younique products!
Do you love all natural make up and beauty products? Are you always looking for new ways to enhance your face, your skin, your hair or your look? Then these Moodstruck Mineral Pigment Powders are just for you!!
I recently took advantage of the low set price on the 4 Moodstruck Mineral Pigments before they returned to their normal price. You see, there had been a typo in our last catalog – which Younique honoured (£27/$35) until the new catalog came out at the beginning of March. So anyway – we have 32 colours in all – half are in matte and half shimmer. You can mix the Moodstruck Mineral Pigment Powders to make them darker or lighter, or make up your own different shades, by combining the different powders.
Why not have a bit of fun with them? The world is your oyster here people!
So, apart from the obvious, intended eye shadow application, what else can you do these all natural pigment powders? Well, lots, actually. In fact, I don’t know if I have ever known a more versatile makeup product in my life, and I keep hearing of new and innovative things people are doing with them. Here are a few suggestions.
Wear Pigments Wet or Dry
For many weeks, when I first received my powders, I just wore them as your basic dry eye shadows. Many of the shades I have chosen go on quite light.
Later as I began to experiment making them wet. At first I started to use just normal tap water, and then eventually, once I bought it, I starting using our Refreshed Rose Water (now called Royalty Rose Water Toning Spritz) . It makes a super nice eye liner when it’s wet…Especially when combined with the liner shader brush(which I do recommend you getting).
I’m definitely using the pigments that way more often. Plus if you wanted, you can wear them wet AND dry on different parts of your eye (e.g. wet as under eye liner and dry on the lid itself). Experiment to see what works best for you.
I’ve watched several videos – both tutorials and reviews – on using them both ways. Here’s one that I thought was pretty good – that may help you if you want to experiment a little!
You can also add pigments to your 3D Fiber Lash Mascara and make your eyes pop with colour as well as volume!
Here’s a video about making the 3D lashes brown. These pigments are perfect to experiment with.
Apply Them to you Face & Lips
The truly revolutionary thing about these Moodstruck Mineral Pigment Powders, to me, is that they can be used elsewhere on your face too. Put some on your cheeks or use them for contouring.
Because they’re naturally based crushed mineral pigments, they can be safely applied to you lips as well. (Note: The Moodstruck Mineral Pigments contain extracts and amino acids from palm trees, coconuts and contain things like vitamin E and Zinc Oxide. See the full ingredients on this page.) I quite like to put a little on my lips mixed with one of my glosses (either one of my coloured lip glosses like Loveable, or else I use the clear gloss called Loyalacross the top). You can use as more of a Lip Stick if you want too – simply apply over the top of your lip balm or vaseline. Here’s a decent video that shows a few different colours of the pigment powders being used as a lip stick.
Brighten Up Your Hair with Pigment Powders
The pigment powders can not only add colour to your face but also to your hair. Yes, really. Across Youtube you can find lots of videos of people experimenting with different examples of using the pigments as hair chalk. It’s not a look I’ve ever tried, but I will certainly give it a whirl soon…Will share photos once I do! For now you can watch this video to see how it’s done!Update: I tried it today – adding a bit of pink to a section of hair. (See my photo).
On a few of the videos I’ve seen soon far, people have wet the hair first with regular tap water, Rose Water or our Glorious Primer…so choose whatever works best for you. (Here’s one video showing mineral pigment chalk on her kid’s hair). Then they applied the minerals – usually just using a brush. Some applied laying the hair out onto a flat surface – using wax paper (or the like) underneath it, and painting it on — but that’s only going to work for those of you who have long hair. (I don’t…)
Finally, some creative types I’ve watched, have then recommend that you use a hair straightener (or perhaps curling iron) to “seal” the pigments into the hair. That seems like it would make sense. It comes out with shampoo on your next wash so feel free to go to town…add a splash of colour or make it a rainbow – the choice is yours!
As if the eyes, lips, cheeks, and hair weren’t enough, you can also use the pigments as nail colouring – simply mix with a clear or light coloured varnish. A little will go a long way here. If you have a search through Youtube you can find a number of videos of people using the Pigment powders as nail varnish. Some have even used 2 colours to get an Ombre look! It’s definitely something I’m going to try! Will let you know how my results are once I’ve mastered it.
Another exciting week (and month) has come to an end with Younique. My week in Younique has been a case of new team mates, new products, new catalogs, new collections (new bag!), new kudos, new territories, and, quite simply, some new adventures too!
Let’s start with the adventure first – or maybe that should be lack thereof.
3D Lashes for Brides?
Yesterday was my first Wedding Show in Glasgow. I will admit to you I had actually thought it was happening next weekend, so I will admit to have been ill-prepared. I have finally managed to order 2 baseball hats (my trademark) and a very bright pink Younique t-shirt. They’re due mid-week. Whoops. This is not the color of the hat, I am assured it’s just a screen shot sort of thing – not unlike the Dress that did the rounds this week! (Which, by the way, I saw as white and gold)
Anyway, back to the event, I did have some make-shift business cards, a price list, a “help wanted” sign, and all our fabulous makeup with me which would have been fine except….
It seems there was some sort of mix-up, or over-sight, or whatever, and someone else showed up who was also a a Younique presenter. In spite of the fact that I was the first in the room to arrive, and I’d unpacked all my stuff already, I was banished to Siberia – or at least the top of the building! What this meant, was that by the time the would-be-brides and their family/friends made it up to me, they’d already seen Younique downstairs. In some cases they even purchased the 3D Lashesdown there! Hey-ho-thems-the-breaks-sometimes…Lesson learned.
It’s a case of new products (more on that in a minute), new catalogs, new kudos and I am pleased to report new team mates. My newest recruit joins me from way down there in England. Ha! She’s called Kelly and is someone who’s read this very blog and decided to join Younique.
She’s my first English person and the first recruit I don’t know to#jointheAteam. Well Sammie, also a new recruit, is not someone I’ve met either, but is the sister of a friend, so it felt like I knew her! 🙂 Anyway super jazzed to have Kelly join the team this week, and it’s nice to see someone who seems keen to create a business and foster team, like me. The more of those the merrier!
Lucky for me there’s a collection that features all of the six new products called Kid in a Candy Store – and I just happen to have some Y-cash going spare.
The danger with being a Younique presenter is that you run this risk of being your own best customer! I think I fall into that category. Oh well at least I can buy makeup and it’s a legitimate tax write off! So that’s the upside right?
I am sorely tempted by the set of 7 Stiff Upper Lip Stains but that does seem a bit excessive. What do you think?
I’ve been having a good peruse of our new catalog – getting it loaded onto my ipad so it’s always at-the-ready…
We’re now taking pre-registration for Latina presenters – how exciting is that? I am hoping to recruit some lovely bi-lingual latinas who will come and #jointheAteam over the coming months. We will be able to start selling products into Mexico from May 5, 2015.
Here is a Younique FAQ compiled regarding the race to start recruitment of Latinas and selling into Mexico!
If you’re looking for a Younique sponsor, then look no further! Wherever in the world, I’d be delighted to welcome you to my Younique team – #jointheAteam here.
Get Real 3D Fiber Lashes From Me Now!
It still burns me people selling Younique 3D Fiber Lash mascara on the likes of Amazon, Ebay, Craiglist or wherever.
I suspect in many of the cases they’re fake 3D mascaras as well.
If you’re in the UK, and need a set of lashes fast, get in touch. I have some to hand (ones left over from yesterday’s non-event!) and will happily sell you the real 3Ds with a reduced shipping rate, and you’ll receive them in about 2 days.
Having bought a few of our collections, I also have a variety of our other products that I can sell you direct – saving you the wait and the international shipping fees! This is a limited time offer! So comment below, tweet me, call me or email me for more info!
Another week has come and gone – and here we are, in February, now. That means I’ve done three, full months as an Independent Younique Presenter & Sponsor – here in Scotland. Of course a third of that time was in California too.
It’s been an amazing journey so far. Definitely highs and lows – just like life as a whole.
Younique’s Big Reveal
The other day we had our big reveal of — six new products and two new territories.
I blogged about the reveal within an hour or so of it taking place – so you can read the full blog hereif you’d like, but essentially the new products are:
Incidentally, I’d never even used a Lip Stain before November, but now I have, and I certainly was a convert.
Not only that, but I was expecting one colour, but it turns out we’re having seven new colours. Incredible. I want them all!
What I Love About Younique
I didn’t know what to expect when I joined Younique. I had not even tried the products yet, I’d only watched some videos and read some articles and reviews. I am completely new to this whole Direct Sales thing, and never saw myself as much of a “sales person” but, I think what I love is that it’s fun, the products tend to sell themselves, and I can make money while I sleep.
I seriously dig that!
Also the flexibility with Younique is incredible! You can work as little or as much as you want. It’s up to you. You can focus your efforts on Blogging (like me), Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Linkedin, Youtube, or Google+. – or take it offline and promote Younique products through your book club, office, church or on the school run!
Do whatever works for you!
One of my team mates up north is doing it “old school” via catalogs. That works too. What other business has this much flexibility?
Plus I love getting these emails – morning noon or night!
and even more so the ones that come three hours after this one…
to say I’ve been paid! How cool is that – no waiting to get your money!! I’m looking forward to filling up my gas tank tomorrow using my commissions from Younique!
In Other News This Week…
Have sold a few more 3D Fiber Lash Mascaras (both in person and through my website). Two have been reserved and that means I have just a handful left. It will soon be time to put through another bulk order as I do sell to people here in the UK for £23 direct off of me and if they’re elsewhere in the UK I’ll send them for £25 (which usually arrives the next day). I won’t always be able to do that but I’ll do it for the next month or so if you need some 3D lashes fast – get in touch soon!
Speaking of them…I have also had more comments on my biggest blog here to date – which talks about Real Fiber Lashes vs the Fake 3D Mascaras. My advice is buy through a Younique presenter to know you’re getting the real deal.
Welcome to #youniquebythea — am now three months down the line with Younique, and I thought to mark the anniversary, I’d do a post on my favourite Younique products. The following cosmetics are the ones I use on a daily basis.
I start by using the Illuminate Cleansers in the shower (yes really). I’ve not used a cleanser for years. I tried Clinique last year when I was noticing some reddish spots near my mouth, and it did me no good whatsoever (forked out a lot on that makeup at Heathrow – more fool me!) I use the Illuminate Clean which is for normal/dry skin. (You can get Illuminate Clear if you have Oily Skin).
When I get out of the shower, I sit down and begin the process of putting my “face on”. The first step here is putting on the Divine Daily Moitsurizer.. It’s just lovely going on. My skin welcomes the hydration. (I am probably guilty of not drinking enough water…something I need to remedy in 2015!!)
Its new formulation has fewer preservatives and comes in an airless pump. 50 ml.
Divine Daily Moisturizer
Here’s a short video about the product that you might find useful…
The next step alternates between the Glorious Primerand the Uplift Eye Serum.
Generally it’s Glorious, so we will go with that. I can’t say that I ever used a “primer” before – but now that I have – I can’t see ever going back. It seriously goes on like a silk coating on my skin. It just evens out the skin and gets it ready for the next layer. Definitely a fave Younique product of mine!
Info via the Younique site:
Glorious creates a flawless canvas as it evens out the skin’s texture, and primes and prepares the skin for premium application of mineral makeup. The resulting appearance is porcelain-perfect, velvety-soft skin with incredible long-wearing, sweat-resistant coverage of mineral makeup that lasts all day. Ingredients are naturally based, free of parabens, oils, synthetic fragrances, and cheap fillers. Suitable for all skin types.
It truly is a beautiful product.
Uplift Eye Serum
After the Glorious Primer, it’s time for some help reducing my wrinkles around the eyes. The Uplift Eye Serum, not unlike the Glorious, goes on in a silky-smooth fashion.
Hours and hours later it still feels smooth. This product is suitable for men and women both – and can be used day or night too!

Rich in vitamins, natural skin lipids, and antioxidants, Uplift Eye Serum is formulated to replenish, moisturize, and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles….Uplift contains vitamins E and C–powerful antioxidants which help fight the effects of free radicals and long-term sun exposure. Squalane, derived from sugarcane, acts as a natural skin lipid to help deliver moisture below the surface of the skin. Uplift also contains Sweet Iris, which helps the skin appear firmer and more supple. Uplift is nutrition for your skin!
Next I personally put on the BB Flawless and spread it all over my face and eye lids. I got a light color (Bisque) because my complexion is on the fair side.
Moodstruck Mineral Pigment Powders
Then I start on the eyes – the lids. I use a variety of the Moodstruck Minerals colors on my lids. I have five of the thirty-two.
I love how versatile these pigments are. Because they’re all natural pigments you can wear them anywhere – including your cheeks, hair, and lips and more! Super fun! (I’m currently working on a blog just about the pigments!!)
Via the Younique Site: Luxurious eye shadows formulated with finely crushed minerals, amino acids, and vitamins that provide key nutrition for your skin.
I really do love these little guys.
You can mix them with the Refreshed Rose Water (or tap water) to make up liquid liners, and shadows, as well. I do that – ever since I received my Rose Water recently!
Naturally, most days I do tend to apply our flag ship product, the best-selling 3D Mascara. Some days I apply it with a base coat of general mascara, and other days, I just apply the transplanting gel, the lashes and then the gel again.
It depends on my mood, my time, and the look I am going after.
Less is more for my normal day time routine. More layers, I mean business!
There are all kinds of great videos and blogs – by way of tutorials for people who aren’t having the best results with these 3D Fiber Lashes. I’ve watched tons to hear how other people are getting the best results and as I say I change up my application process regularly. I highly recommend getting the Lash/Brow Comb. It’s a great tool to make these lashes look even better!
The Moodstruck Precision Liners
Oh boy, I do certainly love Younique’s Moodstruck Eye and Lip Liners. They are incredible. They are versatile and inter-changable. They’re cry-proof, sweat-proof and glide on you friction-free. I’ve never been a huge makeup person before (ask any of my friends) but I’ve always worn eye liner and this is absolutely, categorically the best I have ever used. And it stays on until late at night – when I actually have to remove it!
Here is a great video to demonstrate the liners (and the fabulous sharpener). I tried to buy other sharpeners and to be honest they didn’t work with the Younique liners so I was so glad when I got the set of 15 (eye and lip) Liners which comes with our sharpener. Never have I been so excited to get a eye pencil sharpener before!
Lucrative Lip Gloss
Even more than the 3D lashes, I think, I love the Lucrative Lip Gloss. My fave colours are the Lavish, Lucky and Loveable. Possibly in that order. I recently got the entire Lucrative Lips set of 10 – and to be fair, I have not tried them all on yet (I should do that soon).
3 Reasons to Love this Lucrative Lippy
I think I would have to say that I love the Lucrative Lip Gloss for three, main reasons:
1) they don’t dry my lips out; 2) they are not sticky-icky (so annoying when your hair gets caught in glossy lips isn’t it?) and 3) I love that they have a mirror on the side for those touch-up moments!
Naturally, I love all our products, but these are some of my absolute faves. If you’re looking for some quality, naturally-based products then look no further. The Younique goal is to provide “healthy, clean, and pure cosmetics”…Well that’s about all for now. Hopefully now you have a feel for what we’ve got.
So another week has come and gone again. It’s been a fairly quiet seven days, so there’s not much to report for “my Week in Younique” this week.
To be fair – two of the days this week were spent traveling and unpacking after a month in California…
Earlier this week, this wee image (pictured right, on desktop version of this blog) has hinted at something BIG being announced on the 30th.
On the various FB group pages – we’re taking bets on whether it’s new products or new regions being announced. Or both.
I haven’t got any real clue, to be honest, so I am keen to see what is unveiled!
This Younique company is definitely exciting, I’ll give them that. There is always something happening. (Week before last they announced some big incentive trips – to Jamaica and the West Indies.) It’s always something new on the horizon…Definitely not boring, unlike my January…
Dull January Sales
Sales-wise it’s been a pretty dead month for both my team and myself too. One team mate, Marie, has knocked it out of the ballpark, sales wise. She’s done better than the rest of the company combined. I am so proud of her!
For me personally though, there have been a few private sales and a few queries too. I think people seem to be waiting for payday this week – to bothshop for makeup and/or sign up for #theAteam!
Currently one or two Californians have indicated that they may sign up on my team, and one gal in Scotland too. It would be so fantastic if they all did so – but I’ve found that a lot of people say they’re going to do something, and then they don’t really follow through…
It’s all a matter of timing, I guess. So in other words, just because they haven’t doesn’t mean they wont. I do my best to remain positive even though at times it’s a bit disheartening.
More Courier Hiccups
One of the earliest orders this month, placed via my Younique website, never showed. The tracking indicated it was “out for delivery” on the 14th (which is what I saw seven days later). My only thought is that it fell down the back of something and maybe got lost on that truck?
It’s unfortunate these courier issues have persisted. It’s something that could really makes us look bad – even though it’s a third party who is at fault! It’s our reputation on the line!
Thankfully, the Younique support team is super-quick at sorting things like this – and instead of the sending out a whole new set of 3D Fiber Lashes to the customer, I simply sent her down a set from my stash, and my set will be replaced. (I am happy to wait the 10 or so days, but wasn’t happy for my customer to! PS: She got hers one day later!)
Optimistic for Final Days
I try to remain optimistic for the final days – through my My Younique website, with the products I have in stock and for my team too. Leading a team is proving challenging.
On the one hand, you want to be supportive and bolster your team up, and on the other hand you don’t want to be a pain in the backside.
I’ve tried to arrange a get together for the team mates within traveling distance from Glasgow, and it’s been rather like herding cats.
So it may just be me and the aforementioned Marie – but that’s fine. I offered to buy dinner for the person who sold the most this month and it’s currently her!
My Younique Success in the Palm of My Hand
I will leave you with one bit of news (and picture). When I returned from California I returned to my Fast Start, Yellow and Pink Level Charms to add to my keychain!
The Yellow and Fast Start came with a normal letter signed by the co-founders.
The pink came in a glossy card and classy envelope. I imagine it just gets better all the way up to Black Status (when you get the $10,000 check).
Aiming for that my friends…
Watch this space.
Anyway, it’s late and time to wind this blog down. I didn’t think I had much to say but it turns out I did!
It’s Sunday night, my break from Glasgow is coming to an end. It’s the final hours so celebrating by watching ‘Meatballs’ from 1979. An email just came in, another order via my Younique website. More 3D Fiber Lash mascaras (hooray!) I love getting all email notifications of sales but there is something most special when it’s people I don’t know…
#TheAteam Expands to California
Delighted to have new Younique team member from California called Tina. I’ve known Tina since high school in the ’80s and she is going to Rock Younique – big time. She’s already done another (more pushy) cosmetic MLM – and one for handbags – so her previous experience will truly help her Younique business grow. Very excited. Another old, Californian friend whom I’ve known almost as long, called Teri, may also join #theAteam….I find it kind of funny the 3 Cali gals all have four-letter T-names. Maybe it was a trend that year? (We’re all about the same age!)
So anyway watch this space on team growth. One of my initial goals was to have a team of 10 by January. I achieved that goal. I only have one outstanding goal which is not met and is not likely to be met by the scheduled time (February). That’s going Green. Judging by current progress that will be more like March or April. But miracles can happen, and I’ll just keep pushing forward.
Spending Younique Cash
Having reached Fast Start with Younique just last month, I finally ordered some products to complete my collection. As I’ve purchased a few of the collections already, I had almost all of our products anyway…What I was lacking still – were the Refreshed Rose Water and the Moodstruck Blusher. Since I love the Lucrative Lip Glosses so much, I ordered the entire set. All 10! Yippeee. I also thought it might be a good idea to get the brushes so I have ordered the set of those too! Can’t wait to round of my Younique collection of all products. I felt in order to really runt his business – I need to try ALL of the products and be able to show them to anyone I meet who is interested. It has meant I have a surplus of products here though (duplicates) so I will need to start to sell some of them soon!
I had trouble posting this blog on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday…but we got there in the end…
