Today is Day 6 of ‘Thea’s 12 Days of Younique’ and it’s one of Younique’s 100% natural product – Moodstruck Minerals Pigment Powder in Vulnerable.
These Pigments are one of Younique’s most versatile products. Sure you can wear them on your eye lids but they’re also good in a variety of other places…(You can read my whole blog about getting the most from your Pigment Powders here)
Vulnerable is a light and pretty pink that goes ever so sweetly on the eyes. ..or lips or cheeks.
Another beautiful aspect to the Younique Mineral Pigment Powders is that you can wear them wet or dry. You can mix with the Refreshed Rose Water (or normal water – the choice is yours).
If you want to be Pretty in Pink, then this one’s just for you. It’s so cute and so versatile as I stated above that it’s worth picking up on its own, or save money by buying some as part of a 4 Mineral Pigments set.

Younique Products: “Made in the USA”? (Well, Mostly) part 1
Are you wondering: “Where is Younique makeup manufactured?” The answer is, “pretty much all over”. Many of the Younique products are “Made in the USA” – but some of our biggest sellers are not.
Read on – as I take you on a Younique trip around the world to see where six of our most popular products are from! (NOTE: Will do a follow up as soon as I can for more Younique products)…
3D Fiber Lash Mascara
I’ve seen other Younique presenters stating that Younique makeup is “Made in USA” – but the truth is our biggest seller is (was*) not. The 3D Fiber Lashes are actually made in China. I know that will disappoint some of you out there, more than others…
PLEASE NOTE*: Good news the new 3D Fiber Lashes+ are now made in the USA. Only the original formula was were made in China.
While on the subject of the 3D mascara, please only buy your fiber mascaras from a REAL, active Younique presenter (direct through them – or their website). If not mine, than someone else’s. Far too many bargain-hunters are caught out buying Fake 3D Mascaras from Ebay and Amazon – it’s worth paying the full price on something that goes near your eyes, ok? Shop for REAL 3D Fiber Lash mascara on my Younique site – or UK people may want to save themselves a little money by ordering directly through me. You’ll receive them for a little cheaper and a lot faster if you do! (Ring 0141 416 1492 – always in stock)

Divine Daily Moisturizer
I sure do love this Divine Daily Moisturizer and I really do wear it every day. This is another of the Younique Products that is “Made in the USA”.
From the Younique Website:
“Divine Moisturizer (https://www.youniqueproducts.com/Thea/newproducts/divine) “Divine is an all new, superior, daily moisturizer featuring honeysuckle, beta fructan, and highly refined triglyceride oil. Honeysuckle has long been sought after for its antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties…Made in the USA, and manufactured using a “clean formulation” process.”
Refreshed Rose Water
Refreshed Rose Water was initially one of the products I was, I’ll admit to you, a little ambivalent about. Over time though, I gradually started to see how versatile it…Cooling you down on a hot summer’s day. Mixer for my pigments to apply them as eye liners or into my hair. It also can clean makeup brushes. That’s just a few ways the Refreshed Rose water can be used. It is another of Younique’s “Made in the USA” products!
There is a ridiculous amount of ingredients in the Rose Water – too many to list here – but if you want to see the full list then visit theRefreshed Rose Water page on my Youniquesite and click on “ingredients” below the “Add to Cart” button.
No matter where it comes from, Younique’s makeup is always naturally-based*, not tested on animals, and are generally free from parabens, and other nasty chemicals that will harm your body or you skin.
*Some products do have talc for example, the beachfront bronzer.
Do you love all natural make up and beauty products? Are you always looking for new ways to enhance your face, your skin, your hair or your look? Then these Moodstruck Mineral Pigment Powders are just for you!!
I recently took advantage of the low set price on the 4 Moodstruck Mineral Pigments before they returned to their normal price. You see, there had been a typo in our last catalog – which Younique honoured (£27/$35) until the new catalog came out at the beginning of March. So anyway – we have 32 colours in all – half are in matte and half shimmer. You can mix the Moodstruck Mineral Pigment Powders to make them darker or lighter, or make up your own different shades, by combining the different powders.
Why not have a bit of fun with them? The world is your oyster here people!
So, apart from the obvious, intended eye shadow application, what else can you do these all natural pigment powders? Well, lots, actually. In fact, I don’t know if I have ever known a more versatile makeup product in my life, and I keep hearing of new and innovative things people are doing with them. Here are a few suggestions.
Wear Pigments Wet or Dry
For many weeks, when I first received my powders, I just wore them as your basic dry eye shadows. Many of the shades I have chosen go on quite light.
Later as I began to experiment making them wet. At first I started to use just normal tap water, and then eventually, once I bought it, I starting using our Refreshed Rose Water (now called Royalty Rose Water Toning Spritz) . It makes a super nice eye liner when it’s wet…Especially when combined with the liner shader brush(which I do recommend you getting).
I’m definitely using the pigments that way more often. Plus if you wanted, you can wear them wet AND dry on different parts of your eye (e.g. wet as under eye liner and dry on the lid itself). Experiment to see what works best for you.
I’ve watched several videos – both tutorials and reviews – on using them both ways. Here’s one that I thought was pretty good – that may help you if you want to experiment a little!
You can also add pigments to your 3D Fiber Lash Mascara and make your eyes pop with colour as well as volume!
Here’s a video about making the 3D lashes brown. These pigments are perfect to experiment with.
Apply Them to you Face & Lips
The truly revolutionary thing about these Moodstruck Mineral Pigment Powders, to me, is that they can be used elsewhere on your face too. Put some on your cheeks or use them for contouring.
Because they’re naturally based crushed mineral pigments, they can be safely applied to you lips as well. (Note: The Moodstruck Mineral Pigments contain extracts and amino acids from palm trees, coconuts and contain things like vitamin E and Zinc Oxide. See the full ingredients on this page.) I quite like to put a little on my lips mixed with one of my glosses (either one of my coloured lip glosses like Loveable, or else I use the clear gloss called Loyalacross the top). You can use as more of a Lip Stick if you want too – simply apply over the top of your lip balm or vaseline. Here’s a decent video that shows a few different colours of the pigment powders being used as a lip stick.
Brighten Up Your Hair with Pigment Powders
The pigment powders can not only add colour to your face but also to your hair. Yes, really. Across Youtube you can find lots of videos of people experimenting with different examples of using the pigments as hair chalk. It’s not a look I’ve ever tried, but I will certainly give it a whirl soon…Will share photos once I do! For now you can watch this video to see how it’s done!Update: I tried it today – adding a bit of pink to a section of hair. (See my photo).
On a few of the videos I’ve seen soon far, people have wet the hair first with regular tap water, Rose Water or our Glorious Primer…so choose whatever works best for you. (Here’s one video showing mineral pigment chalk on her kid’s hair). Then they applied the minerals – usually just using a brush. Some applied laying the hair out onto a flat surface – using wax paper (or the like) underneath it, and painting it on — but that’s only going to work for those of you who have long hair. (I don’t…)
Finally, some creative types I’ve watched, have then recommend that you use a hair straightener (or perhaps curling iron) to “seal” the pigments into the hair. That seems like it would make sense. It comes out with shampoo on your next wash so feel free to go to town…add a splash of colour or make it a rainbow – the choice is yours!
As if the eyes, lips, cheeks, and hair weren’t enough, you can also use the pigments as nail colouring – simply mix with a clear or light coloured varnish. A little will go a long way here. If you have a search through Youtube you can find a number of videos of people using the Pigment powders as nail varnish. Some have even used 2 colours to get an Ombre look! It’s definitely something I’m going to try! Will let you know how my results are once I’ve mastered it.
