February 29, 2016 @ 10pm – Welcome lovely to the place I’ll chart my race to Green in March 2016. Yes, I know I’ve already said this before(last summer), but this time I’m ultra-determined! It honestly couldn’t be a better time to shoot this high, as we are about to launch new products, collections, catalogues, kudos and a territory tomorrow morning.
So I will chart the progress in the thermometer above as myself, with the help of my team, embark on the race to green.
Why Race to Green With Younique?
“What’s the big deal about Green?” you might be wondering. Well it’s important for a number of reasons.
1) Green is when you transition from “Exemplary” to “Elite”, as it’s the fifth level out of eight Younique levels. Also you’re passed the halfway mark.
2) Even more excitingly, Green means a promotion! Once a Younique hits green, we earn 30% discounts/commissions on all sales and purchases from here on in. (That’s up from 25% of yellow, pink and blue).
3) In addition to that good stuff, you make more money off of your downline than you do at Pink (3%) and Blue (4%) too!
Yep, Green’s a whopping 5% commissions on your downline’s sales. Brilliant!
Green Targets To Hit
To actually hit Green status with Younique means the person, and their team needs to sell 10,000 PRS (or $10,000 USD).
As Younique presenter hopes to hit green, we also need three qualified first-level presenters, and to personally sell 500 PRS.
For the first time, a Green status presenter has company sales targets to hit too. So a Green Younique will also have to have 2000 PRS company-wide sales. (This is where the comp plan starts to go a bit confusing, to me anyway!)
It’s All About Your Team
As they say there is no “I” in TEAM. It’s taken a long time, (fifteen months), but there are finally people in my downline who love Younique as much as I do, and who are working their business – each in their individual ways.
The more Rock Stars you have in direct sales the easier it is to promote up, so I am pleased to say I’ve got a number of Younique “Rock Stars” on my team now!
There have been six new recruits since the start of the year – and hopefully a few more will come on board soon too. It’s a perfect time to join.
In addition to reaching green this month, I will also hit my target of 10,000 PRS.
When you sell $10,000 you even get a 10k charm, which I am looking forward to earning. It will be my seventh. I never thought I’d be so motivated by small charms, but hey, I am.
So please check back, in a few days or weeks and we’ll see how close I get to achieving this lofty goal.
I am beyond-excited and will document some of the efforts in my nextMy Week in Younique post. Stay tuned.
Do you have questions about whether or not Younique’s a “scam” or “pyramid scheme”? It seems many people are uncertain still, so once again, I thought I’d write a follow up post to my Linkedin post from over a year ago which asked “Isn’t Younique A Horrible Pyramid Scheme?”
“A pyramid scheme is a business model that recruits members via a promise of payments or services for enrolling others into the scheme, rather than supplying investments or sale of products or services.”
Does that sound like Younique?
No, not really, and let me outline for you why it’s not.
1) YOUNIQUE SELLS MAKEUP
First of all, Younique actually sells/supplies makeup and skincare products. Physical products that many people want to buy!
Well, that’s a good start, right?
So therefor, as it actually sells physical, tangible products that you can get your hands on, it can’t really be classed as a pyramid scheme.
2) YOUNIQUE HAS LOW JOINING FEE
It’s a low, one-off investment payment to become a Younique Presenter and you get a Presenter Kit full of fantastic makeup!
You also get a FREE website (with no annual autoships) that works from the second you join, and you never need to actually spend another penny with Younique again!
Of course you do need to sell (or purchase for your own consumption) 125 personal retail sales every 90s days to remain an active presenter. (PRS = equates to $125 US so will vary according to exchange rates in all other currencies).
From the moment you join Younique, you can start selling the products through your own website, and Younique pays you THREE HOURS after every sale. So there’s no waiting around just hoping you will receive your money, eventually. (Read more about joining and getting paid by Younique here)
So how can getting paid your commissions just hours after a sale, from day one, actually be a pyramid scheme?
Pyramid Schemes tend to promise a high return, fast – when you get other people to join up under you and you don’t make any money until they do.
There is no such Younique promise.
With Younique, you can make money without recruiting even one other person!
Yes, remember, that’s from the MOMENT YOU JOIN!!
You never need to recruit one other person if you don’t want to and you can still make money.
Does that sound like a scheme or scam to you?
4) NO NEED TO SELL:
Unlike a Pyramid Scheme, you can remain in Younique as long as you want – without ever selling even one item to anyone else!!
The fact is, most women do buy makeup in some shape or form. I have a few team members that have been with me for the past year, and they haven’t sold anything to anyone else. They’ve not recruited either. They’ve simply spent their qualifying 125 PRS by buying their own makeup every 90 days.
That means they’ve remained an active Younique presenter, and earned their 20% commission right after each personal order they placed for the past year.
Two of them, both fellow Californians (funnily enough), are likely to reach Yellow with their next order, so their commissions will jump from 20% to 25% commission as soon they do.
If you’re buying makeup already, and you already like Younique products, then why would you not join to purchase the makeup at a discount?
5) WHO’S BEHIND YOUNIQUE?
With pyramid schemes, there is often a vagueness about the business – whereby you may only get answers by joining the company.
With Younique everything is transparent. The company information is public knowledge on the website and on videos. You know who is behind Younique, how many presenters there are at any given moment (it’s right there on the website).
You know what everyone gets paid at every step of the way. (TIP: read the aforementioned post about commissions.)
Why You May Be Confused about Pyramid Schemes
Yes it’s true, at first glance, MLMs can look similar because in them you CAN earn more as you recruit a team.
So once you hit Pink with Younique, you do eventually benefit off your recruits sales, but also of your recruits’ recruits too.
So, aye, that does sorta sound like a pyramid…
It is about the team and getting people to join. Younique’s comp plan is a sort of inverted pyramid as we make more on our third generation than our second or first…You don’t earn until you reach Pink. So when it comes to Younique, without recruiting anyone, you can only ever go as high as Yellow. But regardless, for the life time of your involvement with Younique, you can keep on earning that 25% commission back on your makeup purchases and sales.
Pyramid Schemes are Illegal
Finally, the last but not least reason that Younique can’t be, just in case you didn’t know, Pyramid Schemes are ILLEGAL….
If you were to change the question and were asking if you can make money at Younique, the answer is yes, but without a lot of work and perseverance, you probably, quite simply, won’t.
It’s definitely not a “get rich quick” situation. This whole blog is filled with dozens of posts about my experience – written as transparent as possible.
I would estimate that only 50% of my company works their business.
So it really is not right for everyone.
Think before you join Join Younique!
Are you still wondering if Younique is right for you? Then let me ask you some questions before you go.
Are you considering it to just make money? Younique may not be right for you.
It’s challenging and the percentage who actually really make big bank here are slim! I think I counted 169 have achieved Black Status presenters (Note: at this precise second we have had 389,353 join the family). Do the math.
Can you make money with Younique? Totally 100% for sure.
Will you? Well, honestly, that remains to be seen.
I’m just giving you a reality check here friend.
“Younique is not for everyone” – is the phrase I use most around these parts.
Personally, I love it, but I soon learned it was not right for everyone.
Other things to consider, beyond the money factor…before you write off Younique entirely:
If you love makeup and buy it anyway, then Younique’s a great place to start – because you get that 20% discount from day one (and paid 3 hours later, always).
If you want to challenge yourself in more ways you dreamed possible, then Younique’s a good choice too. You will learn so much about makeup, mentoring and media of the social variety! You’ll learn about people, yourself, customer service, and spend time on personal development (which is a core in just about any MLM you consider)
If you like the idea of making friends from around the world, who share a passion about the products, and desire to build and run their own Younique business too, then do consider joining. As hoakey as it sound I really have made some friends (many I’ve not yet met) who I treasure.
If you love the idea of being your own boss, working wherever you are, and whenever you want, then it could be for you.
Here we are again, it’s announcement day for the new Younique Products Spring 2016. It’s always exciting when Younique launches new products, collections, catalogs and territories. Launching these new Younique products quarterly or so keeps the business fresh.
So what have we got coming on March 1, 2016? Something that’s “Decadent for your lips, precisely right for your eyes, some handy new tools, and a few different products for your body”. Oh yes, body products hooray! So here they are…
New Younique Product 1: Lip BonBons
What are Younique’s Lip BonBons? Tinted, moisturizing lip balms. Lightly tinted for a subtly hint of colour with a creamy texture, and smooth and is available in five colours, named for Melanie’s post dinner dining treats: Chocolate Truffle (coral), Red Velvet Cake (berry), Cherry Cobler (red cherry), Raspberry Cheesecake (pink) and Vanilla Milkshake (nude).
All made with five, nourishing, natural oils. multiple fruit extracts, vitamins E and C!
New Younique Product 2: Liquid Eye Liners
This wasn’t a surprise as most of us had heard this was on the horizon. We had one as a Kudos a few months back but what we didn’t know is how many shades we would be getting. These are pretty cool and as I’m not a black eye liner sort of gal I am DELIGHTED about some of the new shades. “Rich colour payoff, matte finish, transfer proof, smudge proof, long lasting”. Hooray.
The Moodstruck Precision Eye Liner comes in Perfect (black), Precarious (blue), Proper (dark brown), Prosperous (green) and Powerful (charcoal gray).
New Younique Product 3: Beachfront Range
Younique’s Beachfront line is now extended to include some body products for the sun-kissed glow year round!
1) Beachfront Body Bronzer
This is beautiful body makeup that washes off in the evening. It provides a healthy instant bronze that evens out your skin tone, and gives a glowing sun-kissed look. It contains Coconut oil, green tea extract and vitamin E. apply and blend until even.
2) Beachfront Self Tanning Body Lotion
This Beachfront Self Tanning Body lotion slowly builds colour for a bronzing, beach babe look that lasts for days. That one sounds perfect for my pale skin (we don’t get nearly enough sunshine in Scotland!) So quite excited about this one.
Coconut oil, green tea extract and vitamin E and shea butter. You want to apply this one daily to build your glow!
3) Beachfront Self Tanning Spray
The Beachfront Self Tanning Spray’s a very easy-to-use spray to build your tan. It contains coconut oil, green tea extract and vitamin E. Apply this one daily with a gentle mist, to build a glowing tan.
4) Beachfront Applicator
To compliment these new Beachfront products we also have some tools like the Beachfront Applicator which is a sponge-like applicator which can be used with each of our new Beachfront products.
New Younique Product 4: Liquid Foundation Brush
It’s a uniquely designed brush with a recessed area that lets you adjust your Touch Mineral Liquid Foundation Coverage for a seamless application. The brush looks good and I am curious to try it but it’s a bit on the pricy side so I’d be looking to acquire it in something like the Face Brush Set, the Complete Brush Set or by using one of my many “half priced” items!
New Younique Products Spring 2016 Summary
Honestly, I can’t wait to see, try and use these new products. I am actually pretty excited about all of them – which is a good thing.
Hola España! Welcome and here we go with another short update My Week in Younique– talking new team mates, a new territory, si España, and the return of Touch Mineral Liquid Foundation (well, sort of…) Read on, lovely.
Younique Says “Hola Espana”
If I was a betting woman I’d have won the bet on the next territory we’d launch in. It made perfect sense as we first had Germany, then France and next up it’s Espana – or Spain for those who do not hablo espanol. Of course!
If you’re in Spain, you’ll be able to Join Youniquein a matter of weeks! How wonderful is that? España – if you are looking for a sponsor then I’d love to have you. If you want some more info on How to Find a Younique Sponsor read that first.
WELCOME TO THE ATEAM CARI
Yesterday I was delighted to welcome Cari the newest team member to #JointheAteam – from Nevada. This after welcoming Tabitha, also in America, recently too!
One of the most wonderful thing about Younique is getting to make friends around the world. Look forward to getting to know these latest recruits in the coming weeks and months and hope that they love Younique as much as I do.
ORDER TOUCH FOUNDATION FAST
There is a lot of controversy surrounding the Younique Touch Mineral Liquid Foundation. It was out for a few months, then it went a bit viral and sold out in every shade. I blogged that the Younique Foundation is back – already this week so I won’t go too much into that but the very good news is that for a limited time only you can order the foundation right now in the Cloud 9 Collection.
Personally I can’t wait for my Cloud 9 collection to arrive because I was already in need of a new Dainty (one of my faves of all Younique products), the Addiction Palette number 1 because I hadn’t been able to purchase it and to replace my Ritzy lipstick because I think I had left mine in California. So all that plus the new travel-size makeup bag makes me very excited indeed.
That’s about all for this week. Don’t forget we have a “Free Shipping” offer going on this month – on orders over a certain amount. That’s February’s Younique Kudos. So happy shopping, you’re welcome!
I leave you with a happy “bienvenidos España”. Hope to see you on my team soon, chica! xo
Younique’s Touch Mineral Liquid Foundation Is Back, (Well, Sort of)
I know a lot of you have wound up here asking “When is the Liquid Foundation back in stock?”, and so this truly is a day that many of us have been waiting for, and I mean customers and Younique presenters alike! You heard me right, Younique Liquid Foundation is available right now – in limited capacity. Read on to understand what I mean by that, but brace yourself please, as what follows is a sort of “Good news/Bad news” sort of situation.
Please, whatever you do, don’t shoot the messenger…
Younique Liquid Foundation Goes Viral & Sells Out
As many of you know the Touch Liquid Foundation from Younique went viral in 2015 – largely due to some uber-creative makeup videos that were shared all over social.
You may have seen one of the girl with rather bad acne, or the other one with the girl who wrote all over her face with a Sharpie pen, or perhaps a different one entirely? There were a lot!
Anyway, the foundation just ended up exploding online, and what resulted was a situation that Younique simply sold out. Not just in one shade, but all shades and in most regions!
It was like foundation was the makeup equivalent of Gold Dust. There one day and then poof, it was gone.
Yes, I hear some of you grumbling, some of you may even be shouting about this. Younique clearly messed up their calculations of supply and demand, and ended up being a victim of their own success.
In their defence, I don’t think anyone could have predicted that such a simple product would have taken off like it had – thanks to some of those aforementioned, creative presenter’s videos.
I had, liked and used it, for MONTHS, before it blew up like a wild fire.
I’ve got some cool videos shot of me putting it on Younique Dad’s wee face on my last trip home, but haven’t been able to release them – due to the product being on back order. I didn’t want to promote a product that no one could buy but that’s changed now…For now though you can see a teaser of how well it works and hopefully I’ll get cracking on the videos soon!
Limited Touch Foundation Supplies
So here is the part you may not be very happy about…To buy yourself a new bottle of your own Touch Mineral Liquid Foundation now, I believe you can only get it in a Stroke of Beautycollection. But I believe it is still on backorder. I ordered the Cloud 9 collection at the end of February – the collection arrived sans Velour Liquid Foundation, which did arrive approximately one week later…
Oh, I know, I know, that’s mad, and frustrating for some of you who’ve been waiting for months for your products. I totally get it. I wish it were different but that’s simply arguing with reality, and frankly this is makeup we’re talking about not a cure for Cancer. (First world problems anyone?)
If you’re desperate, I may sell my Velour foundation to you on its own, message me. Then again, I may just keep it to myself because it’s awfully good. I actually have one person who asked me about it around Christmas so she may need to get first dibs! 🙂
Anyway if you are someone who has really been longing to try the Touch Liquid Foundation then you ought to consider getting it as soon as you possibly can, just in case it sells out again…Not sure if it will, but as I say, “just in case”.
That all being said, if you’re after the Velvet shade of foundation, you can buy that one right now – well, again, if you’re in the UK or Germany! (Mexico currently seems to have one shade too)…
Please no angry rants in the comments about this situation. If you have a serious complaint, then please head over to the Younique Support Desk and complain to them…Not me. I’m just the messenger here it’s not my fault this product sells like hotcakes!
Thanks for reading and for shopping.
If you’d like to join Younique for your own personal makeup discounts, starting at 20%, then join me here. No selling or recruiting required! Or you can join my team and work it as a business. That’s totally up to you. Whatever works!
Happy Valentine’s Day, lovelies. Well, by the time you read this it may have come and gone for another year, as a guess, but wanted to say it just the same. For this My Week in Younique update, we’ll talk a bit about what’s been happening since the last update – like the new team mate Tabitha, how my new “Welcome Back Kit” arrived (and so I did a video for its unboxing), the February kudos and info on the next Younique incentive trip and a few links to blog posts about joining younique, sponsors, and frequently asked questions that you may not have seen this past week or so, too!
My Welcome Back Kit
Last month, Younique offered a sweet little incentive to welcome back lapsed presenters and they called it the Welcome Back Kit. I must admit I was a bit envious when I saw it – mostly for the bag but a few other things in it too…So imagine my joy when I learned that we were going to be able to buy it ourselves from February 1. Buy, I did. I couldn’t resist, and I even made a little video unboxing it, or rather just after I unboxed it.
Speaking of Welcomes…
Welcome to Tabitha – she is the newest recruit – and she hails from Wisconsin.
To be honest with you I’d have hoped for something a bit more, ahem, romantic for February Kudos (last year was great) but this year it’s merely “Free shipping” over a certain amount. Basically if you buy some lashes and just about anything else you get Free shipping so from that standpoint it’s pretty decent…but like I say I’d have hoped they’d have thought a bit more out of the box for the Valentine Kudos…Maybe a pink lip stick or stain with a liner. Something….
I think something a bit more cute and creative would have helped me reach my goal of 10,000 PRS which I am inching my way toward (and had hoped I’d reach this month). But hey ho, we got FREE SHIPPING. Better luck with March’s Kudos….or hopefully some new products.
I’ve heard there will be new Younique Products for March 2016 but have yet to see an official update on that. I await that news with baited breath. It’s always so very exciting when we launch new products, collections, kudos all at once! If it does happen in March – I will receive that new 10k charm – mark my words.
So anyway it’s a great time to join Younique. If you’re looking for a Younique sponsor then this, one of my latest posts,“How to Find a Younique Sponsor” may be helpful to you. That’s of course if you’re not interested in joining my team right now…or even if you are it’s some “food for thought”. I also just blogged another Younique FAQs post so if you have some questions before joining then why not have a look at them?
Younique has announced another incentive trip – this time to Mexico. I am not a huge fan of the idea of cruises to be honest with you (would rather a resort trip) but I have to say I kind of like the idea of this one so I am gonna go for it.
If I can earn it maybe I’ll take Younique Dadalong. Don’t old folks love cruises?
That’s about all for another update of My Week in Younique. If there’s anything I can do to help you…please feel free to reach out. Details are up in the header here.
JOINING YOUNIQUE: How to join, find/choose a sponsor
Q: “How to Become a Younique Presenter” (AKA “How to Join Younique”)
To join Younique, you need to first locate a sponsor to sign up under. There is a recent post which may help you in how to go about how to find a Younique sponsor. There are a few things to consider on that score, so it’s worth a read to determine which Younique sponsor to choose for you.
Also, just as an aside, you generally don’t need to contact the sponsor first. I’ve had a handful of my last ten or so recruits who just signed up without even speaking to me. If they’re lead to join my team, then I am most happy to have them!
I suspect any Younique presenter would feel much the same.
Worth nothing though: You can’t change Younique sponsor once you’ve joined so do take a moment to monitor them online – and if you do have some questions email before signing up. I have had at least half a dozen emails this year already from people saying they’re not happy with their sponsor but really the sponsor won’t make or break you if you’re determined to work Younique as a business. Read that article to see what I mean by that!
Q: “If I join Younique, will an agent ring me?”
Probably not. They might. I have run someone who’s joined my team but mostly I email straight away (as soon as possible) to welcome them and give them my details should they wish to speak before embarking on their Younique journey. But no, generally it’s not done by phone. Besides I have recruits signing up from the UK, US, Australia and have had Canada. So your sponsor can be anywhere – not necessarily in the country you’re in so email tends to work well.
That all being said, if it were my team the person wanted to join and they asked if I could ring them, then I most certainly would!
Q: “How old do you have to be to sell Younique?”
You need to be 18 years old to join Younique. You can however have a parent sign up on your behalf and then transfer ownership once you are of age. Seems to me it’d be a good mother-daughter business. Or perhaps big sister, which I’d assume would work too, but ask Younique about that just to be 100% certain.
YOUNIQUE MONEY: How much you get paid, how you get paid, commisions, royalties
Now we’re getting into the exciting bit, the bit that you’re probably most curious about.
I know that I was!
“How does Younique pay its presenters?”
One of the best bits about Younique is that from the moment you sign up and place an order (through one of your own party links), you receive 20% commission immediately. That’s all of your sales as well as anyone else who shops through your site.
Three hours later you get paid into a Payquicker account.
One person asked what sort of discount Younique gets, expecting it to be on items in their shopping cart, but that’s now how it works. You receive your commissions three hours after paying the full price for the products.
You don’t buy discounted makeup!
I recently did a blog about Younique presenter levels and commission– which I would urge you to read to understand more fully. Younique presenters all start at 20% commission and rise up to 30% from Green level onwards. (Read that post which talks about each stage)
Q: “How does the Younique MasterCard work?”
Again this is a question that will have been previously asked and answered, but essentially, you get all commissions paid into your PayQuicker account and once you reach 50 PRS*, your card will automatically be sent out to you. (*PRS stands for Personal Retail Sales – and generally equates to one dollar. More on that below).
The Younique card is a MasterCard so you can spend it in a variety of ways:
grab coffees, treats, or meals out with it
pick up your groceries
fill up your petrol/gas tank
buy your train, subway or bus pass
You can also download funds right into your bank account, which I did for a year, but now I’d personally not recommend doing that – as you get charged quite a hefty fee for doing that (which seems a bit bonkers to me but that’s PayQuicker’s prerogative).
Q “Can I make money with Younique?” (UK) (Also known as: “How much income do you make as a new Younique presenter?”)
Sorry lovelies, we are not allowed to talk about numbers and figures unfortunately. Besides, it’s all going to depend on what you sell!
Remember you start by earning 20% on everything from the moment you sign up. Once you’ve achieved Yellow status (e.g. 1000 PRS which is around £700 pounds) you’ll go up to 25%. I achieved Yellow in the first month or so.
Since I joined Younique, I’ve done “really good” some months, “pretty good” other months, and on some I’ve made nothing!
Will you make money straight away? Profit? Probably not. I really doubt it (just being honest here). I mean you might, some sure do, but in my personal experience (and that of my team) it’s a slow burn.
In short, I’d not recommend signing up only for the money. But if you want to sign up for that, discounted makeup, making new friends and learning loads every single day (about makeup, owning your own business, marketing, and yourself) then this is for sure a good option!
That’s about all I can really say on that score! But you can read more about my experience in My Year in Younique to get the low down on how it’s really been for me!
Q. “How does Younique PRS Work?” (aka How much Younique do you have to sell to make 125 PRS?”)
Once again PRS stands for “Personal Retail Sales” with Younique. 125 is what you, as a Younique presenter, need to sell to remain active – every 90 days.
As I said, PRS really is just based on US dollars, so that 125 is about 5 mascaras’ worth. (4.5 really but you can’t sell four and a half mascaras – so aim for 5!)
Personally I aim, and suggest my team does too, to do that every single month (even double that) – but really you only have to do that on a rolling three-month cycle.
I’ve heard some past presenters whine “it’s hard” because other presenters have started up in their town, village, area, whatever, but to my mind, that’s what makes it hard. Thinking it’s hard. There are dozens of presenters here in the Central Belt of Scotland (and in the Bay Area when I am home in California) and I never stop to think about them.
Heck, I sold 2 mascaras* alone this week – simply by having them with me in my bag! So it’s not really rocket science. Also sold a Splurge Cream Eye Shadow too – so this has been a great week (in addition to a few sales on my website).
Note*: Though all you ever have to buy in Younique is your own kit, I do tend to recommend that people have some 3D lashes on hand (3-5 minimum), if not in your hand bag, then at home. Not all of my team members opt to do that, but I would recommend they did!
Younique FAQs Summary
Well that about wraps up another of my Younique FAQs post for you. There are dozens of questions each week that are coming in which I try to address here as often as possible.
If you need a sponsor, and have any more questions still, then please feel free to reach out to me (3Dlashes (at) youniquebythea.com). Or if you’re ready to join my team just click on the big green box below.
You can contact me first – or just join my team – either way’s 100% fine! If you’re led to join my team then I’d love to have you!
If you do want to join Younique but don’t fancy my team – here is some advice on How to Find a Younique Sponsor – with some things to look out for before signing.
Finally, if you already have joined Younique and have questions, your first port of call should be your sponsor or upline.
Failing that, I will try to help you if I can…but really my energy has to be focused on my own team as a priority. That makes sense, right?
Thanks for reading. Any questions, please reach out and I will try to help.
Another week has come and gone, we’re only a week away from Valentine’s Day, so it’s time for me to update you all on “My Week in Younique” once more. As I type the Super Bowl (50) is on. I am not a football fan so I’m blogging instead.
It’s been a fabulous February so far! We’ve had a successful launch in France. Am already halfway to Pink thanks to my team of rock stars who are totally killing it. And I’ve a Valentine’s Day offer that may be of interest to some of you.
Today’s Annabelle’s birthday. She’s one of my most recent recruits. She celebrated in style with family and friends and most awesome “Makeup” cake I’ve ever seen. Anyway, I want to wish her a very “Happy Birthday” here on my blog (I’ve already done so on Twitter this morning)
Please do follow her.She does such natural makeup tutorials. She’s got a very lovely Younique way. So very pleased to have her on my team!
So we’re one week into our French launch which is super exciting. The tripled digits club filled up super fast…Much faster than Germany’s did anyway. That’s an incredible start to the launch in the region. If you’re in France, and you’d like to sign up as a Younique presenter, you’d be most welcome to #jointheAteam!
Valentine’s Day – Pink or Red?
It’s one week until Valentine’s Day so the perfect time to pick yourself or someone else something sweet and pink? You can either buy direct from me here, or shop online 24/7.
There are some rumours circulating about some new products coming our way in March. Have heard about new lip stain shades, Splurges in matte shades, more eye shadow palettes, and maybe even something more. New catalogues on the way here too. Very excited about March but let’s enjoy February first, shall we?
If you’re interested in learning more about Younique – whatever region you’re in – please don’t hesitate to get in touch…7 days a week. Email me 3dlashes at youniquebythea.com. In the US you can call 408 353 0434 or in the UK try me on 0141 416 1492.

Younique Glossary of Terms (to help with the following post)
Presenter: effectively Younique’s name for a distributor or sales rep
Sponsor: a presenter who recruits other team members to join their Younique team
PRS: Personal Retail Sales (what a presenter personally sells each month)
Qualified First Level: A presenter who sells 125 PRS in a rolling 3 month period
Company Wholesale Sales (CWS): What a presenter and their entire downline sells each month
Circle Sales: This is a presenter’s and his or her downline’s sales – excluding any of their Green status or higher and their downlines (those people have “spun off” in essence)
Wholesale Sales: 75% of Retail Sales. The remaining value of the original sales amount after Retail Royalties/Commission have been deducted
Qualified First Generation Elite:
What is Younique? Launched in Utah by a sister and brother, Younique is a direct sales company that sells naturally-based makeup, skin care and beauty products – direct to its customers.
The Younique products are not sold in any stores. They are sold mostly through online channels like Facebook, Twitter, Google+or Linkedin or blogs such as this one!
The presenter is paid their commissions approximately three hours after every sale through their website.
Younique’s compensation plan features a colourful-tiered-ladder of eight levels — starting with White and going all the way up to the top spot which is Black Status.
This post will outline the eight Younique presenter levels, and the commission levels of each level. Commissions range from 20% at entry level – up to a maximum of 30%.
We never earn more than 30% commissions – that’s the max for Younique presenters.
Reminder that PRS stands for “Personal Retail Sales”
Entry Presenter: Younique White status – (20% commission)
Every Younique presenter starts earning 20% commission from day one. So from your very first order placed through your website (either by you or someone else), you will receive your 20% commission – approximately three hours after the sale…That’s every_single_time!!
That’s amazing isn’t it? It’s so fun to receive those payment notifications like clockwork!
Entry Presenter: Younique Yellow status – (25% commission)
Once you sell 1000 PRS (personal retail sales) which equates to $1000 or roughly £690 (depending on exchange rate), you will become a Yellow level presenter.
You reach Yellow all on your own sales – and can take as long as you need to reach it. I aimed to reach it ASAP as I wanted that pay-bump up to 25%.
Exemplary Presenter: Younique Pink status – (25% commission)
Unfortunately, you can’t move up passed Yellow until you start to build a team. So if you have no interest in recruiting team members, you will only ever get to Yellow, and never be able to go beyond that.
But if you do want to progress up the ladder, then your next stop after Yellow will be Pink.
To reach pink you have to sell 250 PRS personally – plus you and your company needs to sell 2000 PRS (you can do that all on your own or with your team), and finally you need one qualified presenter.
A qualified first level presenter is someone who has sold their 125 PRS that month. So every month that you hope to hit Pink, you need to do that PRS amount, have a qualified presenter and sell at least 2000 in company-wide sales.
Exemplary Presenter: Younique Blue status – (25% commission)
Younique Blue status is effectively double that of Pink. You need to still sell your own 250 PRS, but your sales need to be 4000 Company Wide Sales, and this time you have to have two qualified first-level presenters.
Elite Presenter: Younique Green status – (30 % commission)
Younique Green status is the next level up the Younique presenter ladder. Sadly (for me anyway), it’s not just double the Blue figures, it’s a lot more than that!
The good news is that now you’re earning 30% commission on sales – which is the top level a Younique presenter can make in commissions as I stated above.
To reach Green level with Younique, you need to personally sell 500 PRS, your company must sell 10,000 PRS (that’s about £6950!! at the moment) and have three qualified first level presenters.
In addition to all the above, you also have to have 2000 in circle wholesale sales*.
This is where I’ve always started to get totally confused, I’ll be honest with you.
* Wholesale amounts are calculated at 75% of the Personal Retail Volume of all commissionable sales.
Frankly, I am rather in awe that anyone can get to Green – let alone beyond it…
Elite Presenter: Younique Orange Status (30% commission)
Rising up from Green level status, it’s up now to Orange level. To reach Orange level with Younique, you need sell the same 500 PRS as the previous Green stage, but as a company you need to have 20,000 in company wide sales. Again three qualified first-level presenters, 4000 circle wholesale sales and 1 first generation elites. So someone in your company needs to hit green before you can promote up.
Man that’s a doozy – in my opinion.
Exclusive Presenter: Younique Purple status (30% commission)
The penultimate level with Younique is Purple level.
You also move up to “exclusive level” from “elite” status presenter.
To reach Purple, you need to sell your 500 PRS still, and your company needs to sell 40,000. You have to have four qualified first level presenters, 6000 circle wholesale sales, and this time you have to have two first generation elites.
Exclusive Presenter: Younique Black status (30% commission)
The ultimate level to reach as a Younique Presenter is Black Status.
To become a Younique Black level presenter you have to be the ultimate rockstar. You still need to sell your personal 500 PRS. Your whole company has to sell 80,000. You need four qualified first level presenters. The circle wholesale sales need to reach 10,000, and if that weren’t enough you need to have FOUR first generation elites.
I thought it would be interesting to know exactly how many Younique women (and men) reach Black status with the company.
I suspect, as a total guess, for every one Black Status Younique Presenter, there are twenty or thirty thousand who aren’t. Don’t quote me on that. I’m sorta making it up. At the time of writing this post there are currently 371,621 presenters around the world and 69 are currently an active Black Status presenter. So yeah, only the best of the best make it that far.
To add to that, there are now three levels of Younique Black status….and you can even earn a car incentive…
Well that about covers it. I hope that answered your questions. If not feel free to message me if you have them. I’ll do my best to answer any.
Incidentally, I am currently BLUE and aiming for GREEN, but to be honest with you, I think I’d be content to remain at Green level for the foreseeable.
When I first started with Younique I was aiming for Black, thinking I’d be there in six months, but then reality sort of set in, and now I think I’d feel content with Green. At least for this year. I could always change my mind as my company grows (more than forty now!) and my teamies start promoting up too…
But for now, I’d be happy with Green. What about you?
